Welcome to the No Roads Expeditions Adventure Racing pages. We are very excited to announce that we have set up a new division within No Roads that will focus on Adventure Racing.
We believe that Adventure Racing encapsulates all things No Roads, excitement, remoteness, rugged terrain, mutli discipline and sometimes the unknown. We love that stuff. And through the Adventure Racing arm we compress all these aspects into a few days.
We have set up these pages so that you can follow our progress. This year we have 2 No Roads Adventure Race teams.
One will focus on the Kokoda Challenge in Queensland and the other will focus on nthe World Championship Adventure Race in Tasmania later this. Add to this a plan to run our own Adventure Race in Indonesia in March 2012, and this division will become a very exciting part of No Roads Expeditions.
Whilst we encourage all our team members to set high goals and strive for the best result possible in all the events we enter, we also encourage them to show sportsmanship, respect & assistance to their fellow competitors. We not only want to compete but we want to represent ourselves with pride and honour.
We will make sure that all events entered are run with the environment in mind. We are not interested in pushing ourselves to the limit if it is going to degrade the environment in which we compete. Protecting the environment is a fundamental philosophy of our adventures and we ensure that this is carried over to our Race Team.

About Me: Age: 57. I have really
discovered a passion for adventure. Mid life crisis hit me like a
brick when I was about 50 and since that time I have both trained
hard and played hard. Having discovered the amazing world of
Adventure Racing it has allowed to get out and see places around the
country and overseas that most people never get to witness. How good
is that! It has also allowed me to test my capabilities, to the
extreme, both physically and mentally, and provided me the
opportunity to access the most incredible places in the bush, on
mountains, up rivers and on the oceans. For these chances I feel very
privileged. These events have been complimented with some awesome
travels as well which have included hiking though the jungles of
Africa, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, kayaking with Killer Whales ,
walking the forests with Grizzly Bears, paddling the oceans in PNG
and Indonesia, diving with Great White sharks, surfing the reefs of
the Pacific Oceans, hugging the magnificent Orangutans, getting
chased by Komodo dragons and lots, lots more. And, of course, there
is still a long (bucket) list of places, people and animals still to
see.
I have been lucky enough to link up with No Roads Expeditions and now I am currently working alongside them on two main projects. 1) to help save the Orangutans by taking an annual trip to Borneo and raising funds to try and make sure they remain with us on this planet for many years to come and allow our children and their children the chance to see these precious and beautiful creatures, and 2) installing Eco Toilets along the Kokoda Track , which is now in its third year and starting to make some real progress. Life’s an adventure, be in it !
