OVERVIEW
Sacred Komodo combines both an extraordinary mountain trek with some of the best sea kayaking on the planet. It is a work hard play hard expedition where for the first part of the trip you will be climbing one of Asia's best volcanic peaks and the second half sea kayaking around the amazing Komodo Islands in search of Dragons.

Gunung Rinjani, on the island of Lombok, is rarely seen from the sea. She is a mystery to many, except those that visit her slopes personally. Famed for its tremendous beauty and eerie isolation, Mount Rinjani is Indonesia's second highest mountain outside Irian Jaya. To reach her summit, trekkers must first walk through a landscape of steep cliffs, cloud shrouded ridges, around high altitude lakes and up exposed scree trails, an environment both awe inspiring and rugged.

Once Rinjani has been conquered we will head to the sea and the island of Flores. There, we will be met by our guide and head out into the park on our sea kayaks. Days will be spent paddling from island to island, snorkeling pristine reefs, exploring uninhabited islands and searching for Komodo Dragons.

When not on the water we will walk among the infamous Komodo Dragons. Growing to 150kg, the Dragons wander the islands of Rinca and Komodo, searching for prey. Though they seem like a slow plodding creature, the Komodo Dragon can turn on speeds of 40km plus.

For those that wish to incorporate a SCUBA Dive in the itinerary (highly recommended), we can have a specialised SCUBA vessel meet us for 2 dives for AUD$130.

From the Komodos we will fly back to Bali for a couple days of shopping before heading home.
